Does anybody tell the whole truth and only but the truth in the court of law?

I have been on jury duty and I have been in divorce court. I don't believe that the swearing in method has any meaningful value in this day and age and is useless. During my divorce proceedings, I told the whole truth and nothing but the truth while my wife made up dozens of lies. I paid the price for being honest.
